Space Studios opened in 2005, the baby of Christian Thomas and Jessica Morgan. Sound engineers and musicians with a background in engaging people in social policy, Christian and Jessica were passionate about making high-quality audio recording available to everyone. Determined to be different from other recording studios in Cardiff, they welcomed all sorts of people: local bands recording and rehearsing, schools making CDs, visiting pop stars and actors, video production companies and even photographers. They also forged a long-term relationship with Bang Post Production, who used the Foley stage and Christian's engineering skills to work on Dr Who, Torchwood and other TV programmes and films.
After a fruitful residency Christian and Jessica decided to cut loose from a permanent base and go virtual, taking their ProTools systems on the road to wherever they were needed, and since August 2009 they have worked in the Welsh Assembly, Millennium Centre, Millennium Stadium, Ty Hafan and other fine and various venues. Bang Post Production took over the premises and welcome Space Studios back there whenever it needs a "proper" studio.
Christian and Jessica's partnership makes Space Studios unique in its approach to recording, production and team building. For instance, Christian's attention to detail means that your work will always sound pristine, while Jessica's passion for voice and singing makes her the ideal coach and producer when nervous beginners are in the studio, or even when more experienced musicians need an objective ear. Their warm and friendly welcome puts everyone at their ease.
