Room 1: 4.25m x 4.12m. Just off reception, this room has some natural daylight and more live acoustics - plaster walls with large acoustic panels.
Room 2: 6.34m x 4.7m. Our largest room which is great for showcasing. There is a small step in the room which creates a stage of sorts, and a large comfy sofa accommodates guests. Acoustically this room has a mixture of Rockwool panels and board, all covered in cloth. This room looks into a control room but if you want a larger control room we can repurpose the rooms as you want.
Booth: 3m x 2.54m. A large booth looks into the control room from the other side from Room 2. The combination of Room 2, Booth and Control room means we can accommodate live band recordings with excellent acoustic separation.
Control Room: As you may have pictured by now, the control room is between the Booth and Room 2, and all three rooms have similar acoustic treatment. Our studio setup is portable to a degree which means we can set it up wherever it's needed, so if you want Room 2 to be the control room, so be it.
Foley Suite/Studio 2
Although some of the equipment here may look questionable, rest assured it's only there for Foley. This suite of rooms offers a large control room and another acoustically treated live room/Foley stage.
Stage: 4.3m x 5m with several floor surfaces under removable covers, upvc door, wooden door with several latches and locks, sink, steps and racks full of props.
Gallery: 4.26m x 4.11m with visual and audio links to stage. Fitted worksurface.
2 Tracklay rooms: approx 3.7m x 2.5m. Two rooms with fitted worksurfaces which can accommodate mixing, editing, copying or writing.
Kitchen: Our large colourful kitchen is equipped with kettle, toaster/grill, microwave and fridge, as well as a table and chairs for you to relax. On weekdays a cafe is open on the 3rd floor of our building, serving breakfast and lunch in sizeable portions. At the weekend, Splott Market serves all manner of delicious takeaways. We can also let you know of local takeaway delivery services.
Reception/lounge: Two very comfortable sofas let you relax in between takes.
If you’d like to hire Space Studios for a conference or event, we can offer you the reception area and kitchen as well as any combination of rooms so you can spread out.
